Cyclones win, Lady Cyclones second at Lake Hamilton Invitational
Russellville Cross Country traveled to Oaklawn Park on Saturday to compete in the Lake Hamilton Invitational. 322 boys competed in the varsity race and 29 teams. The conditions were less than ideal and the course is always challenging. The Cyclones came away victorious.
Junior Carson Walker finished 3rd in perhaps his best race of the year. Senior Jaxon Smith also medaled in 19th. Sophomore Oliver Castro and Freshman Issac Paul packed well with Jaxon Smith and medaled. Junior Anmol Shrestha rounded out the scoring.
The Lady Cyclones had another impressive performance, finishing as runnerup in the large field of teams. Grace Ruple and Anna DeCosta continue to lead, medaling in 19th and 26th. Alyvia Davis, Emerson Brown and Quinn Schaefer rounded out the scoring.
The varsity teams return to action October 27th at Greenwood for the 5A West championships.
